Thermal Break

TERMI-K

Steel frames with a central component in pultruded fiberglass for windows and doors with thermal break

The TERMI-K system is supplied by UKEG for the construction of steel frames for windows and doors with thermal break. The profiles are manufactured using two steel tubes (steel sheet thickness of 1.5 mm) with a central core in pultruded fiberglass. This last component has high mechanical resistance, and it is designed to interrupt the heat flow, and increase soundproofing. The sections of the profiles are 80mm deep and with variable widths from 25mm to 50mm. The extreme strength of the steel – combined with the characteristics of the fiberglass and the series of accessories chosen and designed specifically – allows the creation of doors and windows with large dimensions and a minimum amount of frame on view. The “closed joint” gasket system allows the achievement of high performance in terms of air and water tightness and control. The sturdiness of the profiles allows high safety performances against extreme atmospheric events, guaranteeing the required high levels of heat and sound insulation and safety. The profile, thanks to its perfect flatness and precision, ensures ease and speed in welding and cutting operations. The treated fiberglass component allows the use of powder coating, without any deformation of the profile.

CONFIGURATIONS

Complanar Layout

The line of the leaf profile and that of the case profile are both located along the same direction. There are no recesses or protrusions. This layout stands out for clean lines, simplicity, and for a modern and minimal style.

TERMI-K References

UKEG provides you with support, so that you can get the most out of your building project, both in terms of maximum thermal and acoustic insulation efficiency, design, and aesthetic research. Here below, some references of projects in which the Termi-k system has been used for steel windows and doors.

Private house

The windows and doors frames, made for a prestigious private house, are characterized by large dimensions, an uncommon condition for a residential context: the width of the window is 2.4 m for a height of 4.65 m. The combination of weight and large dimensions of the leaf finds the optimal technical solution in the use of steel frames. The thermal break profiles used for this project belong to the Termi-K series.
