Given the intrinsic features of slenderness, safety and strength of steel, it is the best possible material for constructing window and doorframes, made from cold formed, drawn or profiled tubes. UKEG mainly uses continuously welded tubular profiles for its frames, in ready to use materials or that can be painted. The choice of this production method is due to the high levels of strength and workability that are needed and cannot be achieved with other processes, and to ensure an incomparable quality level to the finish. For total oxidation protection, UKEG bars are Sendzimir galvanized, which, unlike hot galvanizing or electrogalvanizing that are mainly used for drawn or pressure-bent tubes, is obtained on a continuous belt immersed in melted zinc. Therefore, as it is applied on the belt and not on the formed tube this process guarantees: external and, above all, internal protection for the tubes, correct thickness of the zinc that improves welding, preventing toxic fumes and cracking, greater protection given by the colourless chromate treatment that prevents sulfation events occurring.
