Mr. Stoll, you have chosen window and door frames made with UKEG Tabs steel profiles for many of your projects; can you explain the reasons behind this choice?
Very few option are existing in the market that reach what is for me
elemental characteristics: Look, Feel, Strength, efficiency, price/quality ratio and of course simplicity of the form & function with the welcome taste of architectural modernity
What kind of feedback have you had from your clients on your choice of steel door and window frames, excluding your own house?
The thinness of the profile and the robustness of the material please everyone.
The large choice and options of finishing is a plus.
The weight is the weak point for some.
You have also used UKEG Tabs steel profiles for your own house; have you found that they have improved thermal insulation?
I like the look and the solid feel that is obtain from the Tabs steel profiles that I haven’t found elsewhere at that price.
The insulation is not the best on the market regarding pvc wood etc. , but more than sufficient and perfect to live in without compromising on the strength of the frame.
According to your personal experience, what are the characteristics that differentiate UKEG steel profiles?
The monomateriality of the frame is the key factor for me.
The price range is good.
Why did you choose steel?
The durability, the strength and the feeling of security of the metal is important for me as well as the reduced size of the visible profile in comparison with pvc and wood.
The authentic hand craft work as well as the versatility between the brutal and the delicate aspect of steel is for me a premium choice for a timeless building.
The grey energy of the steel is 3 times lower than aluminium; on those days of environmental issues we cannot be insensible on that aspect as well.
